Our dining room needed a new look. I had a bland cream color on the walls and the molding was white. I have decorative molding in the dining room, but because of the muted colors, you couldn't even see it. It was time for a change.
I wanted a light shade and after several months of color swatches on the wall, I decided on a pale grayish blue. Thinking about it more, I realized that the pale blue would not highlight the decorative molding, and I'd have the same problem that I started with. So, I chose a second blue below the chair rail molding, just 2 shades darker.
I think you will agree that this color combination works well. It almost gives the illusion of wainscoting.
I especially love the way it turned out in my bay window. It reminds me of a Victorian doll house.
I invite you to try this color combination in your home. I think you will be thrilled with the results.
Lovely! You've done a beautiful job.
